MESSAGE
FROM PRESIDENT
I
am very pleased to welcome all athletes, who come to Buenos Aires,
Argentine to participate in the 3rd Deaf Pan American Games!
The
Comité International des Sports des Sourds (CISS), being
the French translation of the International Committee of Sports
for the Deaf, was first founded by a group of Deaf sports leaders
who met in Paris in 1924. For 80 years, the CISS was responsible
for major international sporting events for Deaf people all over
the world.
Argentina
Deaf Sports Federation (CADES) is one of the first members of
the CISS from South America and has extensive experience in organisation
of major international deaf sporting events. I am very confident
that the City of Buenos Aires will be a perfect setting for the
Deaf Games backed by excellent organizational skills of the Deaf
Sports Federation plus strong local support from the City leaders!
I
am very sure that all visitors will enjoy and take pleasure in
their stay in this city and the competitors will have benefit
from first class facilities to enable them to perform at their
very best level!
The
Games is the event where elite deaf athletes can gather together
to not only celebrate their sporting prowess but to show the world
that their deafness is not a disability or handicap but a way
of life of which they can be proud.
To
all athletes, officials and visitors I wish them a wonderful and
memorable stay in the City of Buenos Aires!
John M. LOVETT, A.M.
PRESIDENT.
